WFBA were approcahed by a client to help design a new type of racking for storage of boats. When not in use the boat is stored on a custom made racking system. When the owner requests the his/her boat it can be moved from the rack into the water within 15 minutes.

A client wished to construct a swimming pool on their private estate and W F Brown Associates were appointed by them as the structural engineers for the project. The design of the pool had numerous interesting facets. The entrance area had to complement the Palladian architecture of the adjoining main house, the interior had to reflect Greco-roman influences and the rear area had its own unique features. The rear area had to provide not just the domestic changing areas and shower facilities but also had to include a kitchen area and grotto dining room! To complicate matters further these rear areas also had to be constructed underground to minimise the buildings impact on the site. Slope stabilisation was required on the adjoining hillside before excavation and construction of the new pool and its enclosure.
